before Lord Stanley, a copy of a Report from Her Majesty's Advocate General on the
question which, in consequence of Your
Letter of the 27th of July to him, respecting the extent to which
it might be incumbent on this country, in fulfilment of it's Treaty Engagements with Portugal, to defend the Portuguese Establishment at Macao
against any attack which might be made upon it by the Chinese Government. -
